ree

Alliance Healthcare Services is thrilled to announce that Dr. Mallory Mitchell, MD, MPH, has joined our team as Children and Youth Medical Director. Her arrival marks an exciting milestone as we continue expanding our services for young people across Shelby County.

Dr. Mitchell brings exceptional credentials to Alliance. After earning her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, she pursued a Master of Public Health at Indiana University, specializing in social, behavioral, and community health. She completed her medical degree, residency, and fellowship training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Dr. Mitchell is double board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Her clinical experience spans the full continuum of care. Dr. Mitchell has served as an inpatient and emergency psychiatrist at Lakeside Behavioral Health and Memphis Mental Health Institute, working with adults and children in crisis. She currently serves as a staff psychiatrist with Youth Villages, providing intensive mental health treatment in residential settings for children requiring long-term support.

This breadth of experience (from crisis intervention to intensive residential care) gives Dr. Mitchell unique insight into the diverse needs of children and families navigating behavioral health challenges.

Beyond her impressive professional background, Dr. Mitchell is deeply committed to trauma-informed, family-centered care that supports the whole child. A Memphis resident, she stays connected to the community by coaching youth basketball and finds her greatest joy spending time with her family.

As Alliance prepares to open the Children and Youth Crisis Wellness Center in Spring 2026, Dr. Mitchell's leadership will be instrumental in shaping compassionate, comprehensive care for the young people and families we serve. We couldn't be more excited to have her on our team.
