About Alliance Healthcare Services
Alliance Healthcare Services is a nonprofit behavioral health organization serving Memphis and Shelby County, Tennessee. Founded in 1973 as the Southeast Memphis Mental Health Center, the organization merged in July 2013 with other community providers to form Alliance Healthcare Services. Today, Alliance operates 18 locations and employs more than 350 licensed professionals who provide care to over 22,000 people each year.
Our mission is to promote wellness in the community: one person, one family at a time.
Alliance provides services across four areas: Mental Health Care (outpatient therapy, psychiatric services, children and family programs), Addiction Recovery (substance use disorder treatment and Medication-Assisted Treatment), Crisis Services (the Crisis Wellness Center, mobile crisis teams, and law enforcement partnerships), and Community Programs (housing, re-entry support, and case management).
Alliance is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), a designation reflecting our commitment to meeting national standards for access, quality, and coordinated care.
In March 2025, we opened the Crisis Wellness Center, a $34 million facility on Broad Avenue providing 24/7 crisis stabilization, medically monitored detox, and crisis respite.
In 2026, we are preparing to open the Children and Youth Wellness Center, a purpose-built crisis facility for young people ages 4 to 17.
