On the evening of October 20, our CEO, Laurie Powell, was honored as part of the Memphis Business Journal's 2026 Super Women in Business class at Memphis Botanic Garden. She walked to the stage to "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty, which fits the way she leads.

Laurie joined Alliance Healthcare Services in 1993 as a therapist serving South Memphis and Orange Mound. She has led the agency as CEO since 2018. Along the way she spearheaded the Crisis Wellness Center at 3200 Broad Avenue, which opened in March 2025, because she would not compromise on top-tier care for our community.

We are grateful to the Memphis Business Journal for the recognition, and to Independent Bank, the presenting sponsor, for the evening.
