Mobile Crisis provides crisis intervention at CAC, hospitals, clinics, residences and other community settings.
Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) offers 5-day stay with medication management, individual and group therapy.
Medically Monitored Withdrawal Management (MMWM) program offers a 7-day stay with medical services, individual and group therapy, withdrawal support, and referrals to aftercare services. This is the only detox program for uninsured individuals 18 and older who need to safely detox from opiates, alcohol, and benzodiazepines in Shelby County.
Crisis Respite program offers a 4 day stay with medication management, individual and group therapy.
Pre-Arrest Diversion program is the largest in the state. CIT officers divert over 500 individuals per month to the CAC in lieu of incarceration.
C.A.R.E. Team (Crisis Assessment and Response to Emergencies Team) consists of a CIT officer, paramedic, and a licensed mental health professional and operates 7 days a week from 8:00am-8:00pm. The goal of this team is to decrease abuse of the 911-communications line, overuse of the local emergency departments, and educate individuals of other ways to gain access to mental health services. By dispatching the CARE Team, individuals with a history of treatment for mental health are given an onsite minor medical screening, mental health assessment, and are connected to community resources. This collaboration has been essential in ensuring individuals receive adequate mental health services and are connected to other resources unknown to them and their family members.
Emergency Room Diversion Pilot is coming soon through partnerships with both Memphis and Shelby County Fire Departments. The EMT will staff with the CAC Medical staff and will bring eligible individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis directly to the CAC instead of the local hospital emergency rooms.
SAFE (Shelby County Alliance Field Evaluation Team) is a partnership with the Shelby County government and the Sheriff. This co-responder model pairs a behavioral health specialist with law enforcement to link to treatment and divert from jail.
SC-MATRS is a grant with Shelby County government to expand MAT and detox services for uninsured individuals at risk of incarceration

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my loved one is in a mental health crisis?
If you're worried enough to be searching for help, that's enough. You don't have to wait for a suicide attempt, violence, or a complete breakdown. The Alliance Crisis Wellness Center helps Memphis families before things reach that point. Walk in to 3200 Broad Avenue or call (901) 577-9400 anytime, day or night.
Will my loved one be institutionalized at the Crisis Wellness Center?
No. The Crisis Wellness Center provides short-term stabilization, not long-term institutionalization. Most stays last several hours up to 23 hours; we can extend up to 5 days if needed. The goal is to stabilize your loved one in a safe environment, then connect them to ongoing outpatient care.
What if my loved one will not come to the Crisis Wellness Center voluntarily?
Call Alliance Mobile Crisis at (901) 577-9400. Our mobile team can come to your home, assess the situation in person, and walk you through next steps, including legal options if your loved one is a danger to themselves or others. You don't have to handle this alone.
How long will my loved one stay at the Crisis Wellness Center?
Most crisis visits last several hours up to 23 hours. The Crisis Wellness Center can provide care for up to 5 days if more time is needed. Our goal is to stabilize the immediate crisis, then connect your loved one with the right outpatient or community-based support.
What if we cannot afford crisis services?
Cost is never a barrier at the Alliance Crisis Wellness Center. We accept TennCare, Medicare, BlueCare, Cigna, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, and Wellpoint. No one is turned away based on ability to pay. Focus on getting help; we will handle the billing afterward.
What should I bring to the Crisis Wellness Center?
Just bring your loved one. If you can easily grab their insurance card, photo ID, and a list of current medications, that helps our team. But don't let missing paperwork stop you from walking in. The Crisis Wellness Center is at 3200 Broad Avenue, open 24/7.
