About Our Children & Youth Wellness Center

The Children and Youth Crisis Wellness Center is an $11 million, state-licensed mental health facility developed by Alliance Healthcare Services in Memphis, Tennessee. Set to open in early 2026, this trauma-informed facility will serve children and youth ages 4-17 experiencing behavioral health crises in Shelby County.
Located at 602 Malcomb St. (adjacent to our Adult Crisis Wellness Center), the facility will offer 24/7 walk-in crisis assessments, a crisis stabilization unit with 15 total beds (8 intensive care, 4 observation, and 3 flexible), and comprehensive services including psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and peer support.
The center aims to reduce emergency room visits and inappropriate placements while providing rapid, age-appropriate care that keeps families together.
What Makes Us Different
Think of us as your child's mental health emergency room – but designed specifically for young minds. We're not a hospital. We're not a clinic with long waits. We're something entirely new.

Immediate Stabilization

4 respite beds for monitoring and observation

Why This Matters Now
The reality: Shelby County has one of the highest rates of children visiting emergency rooms for psychiatric crises in Tennessee. Average wait times for youth mental health services? Over 6 months.
Your child can't wait 6 months when they're in crisis today.
That's why we exist. To bridge that gap. To be there for your family.
Real Impact, Real Results
Our Goals:
Reduce psychiatric hospitalizations for children
Keep kids out of juvenile detention for mental health issues
Get children back in school faster

This is about crisis intervention. It's about giving your child's life a different trajectory.
