Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Enhanced Outpatient Program at Alliance for?
EOP is for adults 18 and older diagnosed with a substance use disorder who want intensive addiction treatment while keeping their job, home, and family responsibilities. It's a step up from weekly outpatient counseling, but a step below residential care. You attend multiple sessions per week and continue living at home.
What's included in EOP at Alliance?
EOP combines individual and group therapy with licensed addiction counselors, certified peer recovery specialist support, and medication evaluation. Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MAT/MOUD) is included when clinically appropriate. Schedule is flexible to work around employment and family commitments. The program is delivered at the Peabody Avenue Clinic in Memphis.
How long does the Enhanced Outpatient Program last?
EOP length depends on your needs and progress, typically several months of intensive treatment followed by step-down to standard outpatient counseling. There is no fixed graduation timeline. Your Alliance treatment team adjusts the schedule based on your stability, recovery goals, and life circumstances at each review.
Can I keep working while I'm in the Enhanced Outpatient Program?
Yes. EOP is designed for people maintaining their daily responsibilities. Group sessions are scheduled to fit around employment, school, parenting, and other commitments. Most EOP clients keep working through treatment. If your job offers FMLA, the Alliance team can also provide documentation for medical leave when appropriate.
Does insurance cover the Enhanced Outpatient Program?
Yes. Alliance EOP is covered by TennCare, Medicare, and most major insurance, including BlueCare, Cigna, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, and Wellpoint. If you're uninsured, ask about the Behavioral Health Safety Net Program or sliding fee scale. No one is denied addiction services due to inability to pay.
