A Timeline: Our Children & Youth Wellness Center Takes Shape

Updated: Jan 8

Construction Ground Breaking: February 2025

When we broke ground at 602 Malcomb Street for the Children and Youth Wellness Center, we made a promise to Memphis families: help is coming. Today, we're excited to share that promise is now becoming reality.

Topping Out: June 2025

Topping out means placing the last structural beam. Then work will begin on closing up and working on the interior.

Walls Going Up: September 2025

Interior work continues. Walls, windows, and hallways are beginning to take shape.

MLGW Turns on Permanent Power: October 2025

We received approval for a permanent power connection. The lights are now on.

Interior Buildout Continues: October-December 2025

Interior walls, electrical, ceilings, and drywall continue.

Painting and Interior Finishing: January 2026

Walls begin to receive paint. The building really starts to receive life and hope.

The Reality We're Changing

Right now, when a child experiences a mental health emergency in Memphis, families face impossible choices: overcrowded emergency rooms, long waits for inpatient beds, or worse - juvenile detention for what is fundamentally a health crisis.

Starting April 2026, there will be another option.

Stay Connected

As construction progresses, we'll continue sharing updates on what's happening at 602 Malcomb Street. Follow along as walls go up, spaces take shape, and Memphis gets closer to having the pediatric crisis care our community deserves.
