Alliance's Crisis Wellness Center Wins ABC Excellence in Construction Award

Alliance Healthcare Services is proud to announce that our new Crisis Wellness Center has been honored with an Excellence in Construction Award from the West Tennessee Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). The facility earned top recognition in the Medium Healthcare category at ABC's 2025 awards ceremony.

The ABC Excellence in Construction Awards represent the construction industry's premier recognition program, celebrating projects that demonstrate exceptional quality, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Winners are evaluated on complexity, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, safety performance, and overall project execution. This award recognizes not just the final structure, but the collaborative excellence that brought it to life.

A Facility Designed for Healing

The 55,000-square-foot Crisis Wellness Center in Memphis's Binghampton neighborhood represents a significant expansion of Alliance's crisis response capabilities.

The two-story facility nearly doubled our crisis stabilization capacity from 27 to 45 beds and features 15 assessment rooms where our clinical staff can serve up to 24 individuals simultaneously.

What sets this facility apart is its intentional design philosophy creating an environment that prioritizes dignity and healing over institutional aesthetics. Warm finishes, thoughtful lighting, and carefully selected materials welcome rather than intimidate those seeking help during their most vulnerable moments.

The facility includes a secure rooftop courtyard, family spaces, and a covered intake area that ensures privacy and safety for arrivals.

This was more than adding square footage. It was creating infrastructure that matches the caliber of care our community deserves.

We're grateful to Turner Construction Company for their exceptional work bringing this vision to life. Their team navigated the technical complexities of behavioral health construction from specialized security systems to therapeutic design elements while maintaining an unwavering focus on creating a space that serves our mission. Since opening our doors earlier this year, the Crisis Wellness Center has already made a measurable difference. We've reduced emergency incidents, decreased reliance on emergency medication, and most importantly, expanded access to immediate crisis support when individuals and families need it most.

As Shelby County's largest comprehensive behavioral health provider, we've long understood that infrastructure matters. The right facility enables better outcomes. This recognition from ABC validates what we've seen firsthand: that excellence in construction directly translates to excellence in care delivery.
