Alliance Healthcare Services is pleased to announce the promotion of Elizabeth (Liz) Fletcher, LMSW, to Grants Manager. In this role, Fletcher will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding that supports Alliance's continuum of behavioral health and housing services across Shelby County.
Fletcher brings nearly two decades of experience in homeless services to the position.
She began her career in 2007 while completing her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Memphis, where she completed her internship under the supervision of June Averyt, a mentor she credits with shaping her deep passion for homeless services.
Since then, she has supervised multiple permanent supportive housing programs serving veterans and chronically homeless individuals living with disabilities.
"I am excited about the experience and passion Liz brings to this role," said Samantha Hammonds, LCSW, Vice President of Compliance and Special Programs. "Her expertise in grants management and her involvement in the community will be greatly advantageous to her in this role."
Liz's Record of Community Leadership
In addition to her direct program work at Alliance, Fletcher has been an active leader within the Memphis/Shelby County Continuum of Care (MSCCoC) — the HUD-recognized coalition of nonprofits, government agencies, shelters, and service providers that coordinates the region's response to homelessness.
She has participated in and chaired multiple CoC committees over the years and describes herself as "one of the OG's" of the CoC, a reflection of her long-standing commitment to improving how Memphis responds to homelessness at a systems level.
This background positions her well for her new role. Grants Managers at organizations like Alliance must understand not only the funding landscape but also the community partnerships, outcome data, and program structures that make grant applications competitive and compelling.
Growing Leaders from Within
Liz was previously the Program Director for STAY 1 and 2 at Alliance Healthcare Services. Her promotion reflects our investment in staff who have built their expertise over years of meaningful work in the Memphis community.
Liz is known for her inquisitive and persistent approach, qualities well-suited to the demands of grants management, which requires careful attention to detail, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex program information clearly to funders.
At Alliance Healthcare Services, we are committed to developing and promoting leaders from within our own team.
